December Tempest - Portland Head Light
Location: Portland, ME
Date Captured: 12/18/23 at 2:58pm
Description: A storm ascended the coastline and hit Maine on Monday, bringing strong winds and rain that hit like sandpaper. This was my first experience witnessing, let alone photographing, such a storm in person, and I was astounded by nature's immense force. Eager to see how the lighthouse was faring, I headed to Portland during the storm. The ocean, churned into fury by the storm, was unleashing monstrous waves. They rolled in, one after another, crashing against the rocks in a breathtaking display of the ocean's might. Standing on the edge of the rocky cliffs, I captured this image, which I feel best encapsulates the overwhelming power I witnessed.
